Support Colleen’s Run in Memory of Grace Alumna

Please join us on Saturday, June 1st at 9am in Kensington for the sixth annual Colleen’s BA 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk to benefit the Colleen Mitchel Memorial Fund.  The Fund was established in memory of Colleen Mitchel, who was born with biliary atresia (BA) in 1993, had a liver transplant at 7 months old, and died in 2013 at 19 years old from complications due to liver disease, after waiting over four years on the liver transplant list.  Colleen graduated from Grace in 2005, Walter Johnson High School in 2011 and attended the University of Michigan.

Thanks to the Colleen Mitchel Memorial Fund and the annual BA 5K, over $130,000 has been donated to support organ donation awareness in the DC area and ground-breaking research at the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Center into the root cause of BA and a cure as well as improving outcomes of children living with liver disease and post-transplant!

Please come out and join this wonderful community event along Beach Drive in Kensington – and consider creating a Grace team.  Prizes are awarded to the fastest by age group, and we have great raffle items from local businesses and restaurants.

For details on the Run and to register, please go to www.colleensba5k.org.  Also please share/like us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ColleensBA5K.  Thanks for your support and we hope to see you on June 1st!
