Fall Sports Recap: Gryphon Kickball and Soccer
The fall soccer season was full of fun and transformation. We had the pleasure of having a guest soccer coach, Carlos Stein, join us for practices and games. Carlos coaches the Vision Elite FC team and will also be starting up a futsal team (a form of soccer played indoors with 5 players per side) for young people this winter — so reach out to him at info@visionelitefc.com if you’re interested in keeping the soccer fever going for your young player! Thank you Coach Stein.
Coach Rutledge and Coach Carlos focused on skill and responsibility, turning the students into artful players. Although we did not win a game, the level of confidence and determination improved greatly.
We had one kickball game against Woods Academy and it was very exciting. The score was tied 9-9 in the bottom of the 7th and we were kicking. Victoria kicked first and got on base. Now we needed one more big kick. Kadin came to the plate and blasted one to center field, clearing the bases. We won and the kids were super excited. Great teamwork and effort by all.
Parents, please share any photos of the team you may have with Noelle at nmchugh@geds.org!
The basketball team will start practice in December. We hope to field a boys and girls team for the winter season. More information to come. Thank you for supporting the Gryphons!
