Kami’s Jammies — PTO Fundraiser
The PTO pajama drive is to benefit children who participate in the Casey Cares program. Inspired in memory of a beloved child, the Kami’s Jammies program provides children with some extra comfort by giving them pajamas in the hospital. The child, Kamryn, was a frequent, overnight hospital patient who battled leukemia. She felt special when she wore a new pair of pajamas in place of hospital gowns.
Casey Cares is a wonderful program that helps families with children that have had serious illnesses. It keeps families’ spirits high by arranging programming – whether it’s a movie night, a fresh pair of pajamas, or attending a major sporting event or college football game. Grace Grade 4 student Alison Acosta was thrilled to attend a University of Maryland men’s basketball game with her family earlier this year, with tickets donated to Casey Cares.
In lieu of uniforms, Grace students are invited to wear their favorite pajamas to show support for critically sick children on Tuesday, April 16, nationally recognized as Pajama Day. The PTO drive for Kami’s Jammies ends the same day. If you have any questions contact the PTO, thegracepto@gmail.com.
