GEDS Annual Book Drive and Dine Out
The PTO will host its annual book drive at Politics and Prose (5015 Connecticut Ave NW) and dine-out at Comet Ping Pong (5037 Connecticut Ave NW) on Saturday, January 26th. From 9 AM until 10 PM, Politics and Prose generously gives 20% of book sales back to Grace when families tell the cashier they are participating in the book drive. Comet gives 15% to Grace when families write “Grace” or “Grace Episcopal Day School” on their checks from 11:30 AM until 10:45 PM.
New this year, our special guest reader, Jennifer Danish will entertain your little ones with a favorite children’s book or two while you shop. Find her at 11 AM in the children’s department!
We call it a “book drive” because it’s our goal to collect as many books for our classrooms and library as possible. Faculty and staff have created wish lists of new books that will inspire wonder, nurture a love of literature, and provide the ability to find and use information for our children.
In addition, we also collect books for our partner organization, the Homeless Children’s Playtime Project. HCPP is an organization which provides a safe, structured play space for children and teens in emergency shelter and transitional housing spaces throughout Washington, DC. The Playtime Project offers not only space and plenty of books to read, but can answer “yes!” when a child asks to take home a book. Please join the Grace PTO in supporting your school and its mission to serve others!
