Grace Early Childhood Team Attends the NAEYC Conference
Last week, from Nov. 15-17, six of our Early Childhood teachers and our Early Childhood Division Director attended the annual conference of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) here in Washington, D.C. We worked hard to find great substitutes for their classes so that every teacher had a chance to attend on at least one of the days. It was a wonderful opportunity to take the pulse of early childhood education in the U.S. and abroad at this current moment.
Our team had opportunities to gather ideas to expand and deepen our own practices, and to connect with other professionals in the field. Session topics ranged from creating environments that encourage dramatic play and executive function skills, to the brilliance of black boys and nurturing their success in the early grades.
Everyone is excited to implement new ideas in their classrooms and to share with colleagues. All together as a team, they attended almost 60 hours worth of training!
