Congratulations to Ms. Rutledge and her softball team

Sometimes our coaches win their own games. Ms. Rutledge is a pitcher for a women’s slow pitch softball team, Team DC Swag. They went to New Orleans and competed in the ASANA World Series Softball Tournament from September 19-22.   After 4 days of softball, 14 games, and a lot of teamwork, DC Swag won first place in the D division, which hosted 38 teams from around the country including Hawaii.  The most amazing thing was the determination of this team: of the 14 games, 9 were won by coming back from behind, at one point, 7 runs down. The selflessness and dedication of each team member made this incredible victory possible. Congratulations to you and your team, Ms. Rutledge!
