To give back in this season of gratitude, Kindergarten through Grade 5 students assembled 160 “Cups of Cheer” for the elderly in Montgomery County. Working with Small Things Matter, students wrote cards and filled mugs with tea, coffee and cocoa packets to help warm hearts and hands. The Grace Student Council held a donation drive for Shepherd’s Table the week leading up to Thanksgiving. Preschool through Grade 5 students brought bags of coffee, sugar, broth, quinoa, lentils, canned coconut milk, and lots more to support their neighbors and the mission to “improve quality of life, create a pathway towards self-sufficiency, and inspire hope for the most vulnerable experiencing food insecurity, homelessness, and poverty.” To read more about Shepherd’s Table, https://www.shepherdstable.org/.

Gryphons Get Vaccinated!
On Saturday, November 6, just days after the final CDC vote, Grace offered a community-wide vaccine clinic for children ages 5-11. Thanks to everyone who passed the word, 140 children received their first dose! There were few anxious souls but by and large the children were upbeat and energized. And, parents were incredibly grateful. Special thanks goes to our Safeway friends on the west coast who made sure we had the vaccine in time and to our local Pharmacy Staff who were incredibly supportive throughout the process and gentle as they worked with the children.
