Will Turner

Will was born in Atlanta, GA, but has spent most of his life living in Silver Spring, MD. He attended Georgetown Day School in Washington, DC for his primary and secondary schooling. He is a proud alumnus of the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY where he majored in Psychology. He attended the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (Go Blue) for graduate school where he earned his master’s degree in Organizational Psychology.

Most of Will’s professional experience has been in the Federal government where he has worked for over 15 years. He led initiatives that improved data governance outcomes that directly impacted Federal policy. Among his Federal experiences, he worked for the US Department of Justice in the Executive Office for US Attorneys where he led the Data Integrity and Analysis unit and served as the division’s expert on mitigating risk associated with data accuracy and data analytics.

Currently, Will works for Microsoft as a Sr. Risk Manager in the Risk, Compliance, and Threat Management division where he manages policy governance and processes for the Microsoft Business Organization and Microsoft Finance areas.

Will lives with his wife, Alana, and their boys, Harrison (12) and Jordan (9) and they have been members of Grace Church since 2010. Jordan attended GEDS for Prekindergarten. As someone from the DMV area, he describes himself as a bit of an oddball in that he is a diehard fan of Atlanta professional sports teams – even if they are not consistently good. Also, he loves music and comes from a musical family. About six years ago, he took up DJing as a hobby (you may have seen him playing music for the GEDS auction or the Harvest Dinner among other church events).
