Lynn Maloney

Lynn Maloney has spent nearly a decade supporting leaders of independent schools in
the Washington, D.C. region and around the country. In September 2023, she was
named the Executive Director of the Elementary School Heads Association (ESHA), a
national organization whose aim is to advance the well-being and success of
independent elementary school leaders and promote the value of an independent
elementary education. In this role, she engages regularly with PK-8 heads around the
country on a range of school leadership issues.

Lynn also serves as the Associate Director for Programs and Engagement at the
Association of Independent Schools of Greater Washington (AISGW), where, among
other things, she provides carefully crafted and high-quality professional development
opportunities to heads and senior administrators, curates resources, and advances best
practices. In her time at AISGW, she helped elevate the association to a high-value
organization that is mindful of its mission and highly attuned to the needs of its
members. In addition to designing and implementing all of AISGW’s programming, she
launched a robust sponsor program and has developed strong relationships across the
association’s membership and more broadly in the independent school ecosystem.

Prior to her time at AISGW, Lynn served on the board of the Parents Council of
Washington, where she did similar work for the Washington, D.C. independent school
parent community.

A proud Georgetown University Hoya, Lynn resides in Kensington, Maryland, with her
husband Chris, who has spent almost 30 years as a teacher and administrator in
independent schools. She has three young adult daughters, all of whom attended
independent K-8 and high schools in the D.C. area.
