Edward Owusu

Edward’s journey in the field of education began 30 years ago. Edward was appointed in July 2025 to be the Principal at Our Lady of Good Counsel, his alma mater. His experience as Principal, Assistant Principal, Instructional Specialist, Teacher, Coach, all within the Montgomery County Public School system, and Adjunct Instructor for Hood College, have deepened his understanding and application of organizational change, executive and instructional leadership, human resources and capital development, partnership development, and coaching for results. His learning in certification of micro-credentials have enhanced his abilities to impact current and future educational leaders.

As an educator with experience in every level of education (Kindergarten through Grade 12 and higher education), the broader opportunities to engage partners at the local, state, and national levels have broadened his educational perspective and strategies in support of the communities, principals, and schools he has served. Adding to his own personal experience at private catholic schools, K-12, it is his faith and belief that the knowledge, tools, and skills acquired to serve others have established a strong foundation to do good.

Edward is an alumnus of Virginia Tech University (Bachelor of Science degree – ‘94), and Bowie State University (Master of Education degree – ‘01). He graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School and is a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Washington D.C.
